We have family that live near Panama City Beach, so of course we get the best of both worlds when we get to visit them every year. They are awesome people and we always have the greatest time. And of course, there is the beautiful beach… which is definitely an added bonus.
I will admit that I didn’t take my camera out too much this trip. I just enjoyed relaxing and hanging out with people I love.
We were there over the Fourth of July. I have to say that fireworks on the beach may just be one of the greatest things ever. I didn’t bring a tripod, so I was able to get just a few photos before it got too dark.
While this is not an ad in any way (this cabana isn’t even mine), I have to say how great these Cool Cabana‘s are. Since they live at the beach, our family has experience with every type of sun shield. Umbrellas, canopies, tents, etc, etc, etc. They recently got these and let me tell you- we all agree these are the best. They are light weight. Easy to put up and take down. The sand holds them down. If you are a beach goer- I highly suggest looking into them.
Another favorite thing? Puddle Jumpers. Our family keeps a set at the beach house and we have a set for our neighborhood pool. They allow the kids full movement of their arms and just take the worry away. Of course, they aren’t a life saving device, but they keep the heads above water. A few years ago, one of ours was having a seizure under water, talk about heart stopping! Wearing these takes some of the neurotic mother away, which means everyone gets to have a good time. (I bought ours on Amazon. We got a great deal during the winter months and saved them for the next year. We’ve had them for about 3 years now and I still love them just as much. They are something I would even pay full price for. They are just that great!)
One other thing I love about the entire Panama City Beach area is the water is relatively shallow. There are long sandbars up and down the entire coast. This allows the kids to feel like they are venturing out a little further, but the water is really only up to their waist. It also allows for smaller, almost tide-pool like areas for the littler ones to play in. The beach can be nerve-wracking for parents. But here, I don’t have that. Between the clear water, the sandbars and their puddle jumpers, I can actually relax!
We didn’t venture too far from the beach this trip. But if you are headed to that area, I wrote about a few fun things to do in previous posts.
- Gulf World Marine Park
- Miracle Strip Amusement Park (Actually, I think this is closed down now)
- Sea Dragon Pirate Ship
We love the Beach!
