Consistency- that should be my one and only goal for next year. I’m thinking about restructuring this for next year. Maybe quarterly? I think I like the idea of ever-changing goals. Hmm… I’ll think some more about that.
Anyhow- here is my update for the past few months.
1. Complete the Discover Further Book Challenge. (If you haven’t joined in, PLEASE do! It’s simple, all you have to do is READ).
I don’t think I’ve read anything that counts towards this challenge lately. I’ve had a lot of things on hold, and they’ve all come in at once, so I’m trying to get through all those first.
2. Keep grocery budget under $800 a month.
For March I did great. April and May were a bust. I blame the end of the school year (which equals laziness) plus my lack of keeping track. I’m trying to do better for June.
3. Complete 1 Skillshare a month.
I decided to stop doing this. I just didn’t think it was worth it…. at least for right now. I think Skillshare is great program, but the classes they offered just weren’t what I was interested in. Plus, I just didn’t have time to do it. I do want to keep learning new things though, so I’m thinking of a goal to replace this.
4. Go on 12 hikes. Ahhh… hiking. One of my favorite things ever.

March: cancelled because of snow 🙁
April: Edgar Evins, Silver Point, TN
May: Bledsoe Creek, Gallatin, TN (hiked with my kiddos)
My hiking group decided to take the summer off. Too many of us are out of town, plus it’s pretty hot outside. I’ll have to make sure to hike on my own to reach the 12 for the year.
5. Acknowledge birthdays…..
I didn’t know of any birthday’s … either that or I missed them. I did give my one hiking friend a Go Girl for her birthday. She laughed so hard. We were the only ones in our hiking group that didn’t have one.
6. Earn $1000. I think I earned another $25. This doesn’t seem to be a priority for me this year. 🙁

7. Run 5 races.
In April, I did another 5k. That brings my total up to 3 this year. It’s race season, so I need to do some research and find 2 more to be done with this goal for the year.
February– Cummins Falls 5K and Hot Chocolate Run 5K
April– Special Kids 5K
8. Complete Book of Mormon Study Guide.
Working on it.
9. Read 52 books. I may not have read any books from my challenge (see#1) , but I have been reading.
January total: 4
March, April and May: 29
I’m currently at 39 books for the year. I have no doubt I’ll reach the 52 and then some.
10. Complete 500 exercise miles.
My yearly total thus far: 106
March, April, May: Ahhh! I totally forgot about this goal so I haven’t been keeping track. I know I went on a few bike rides but I have no idea my exact run/walk mileage. From what I can remember, I added up 51 miles. I’m sure that’s on the small side, but I can’t remember. Those months were a blur and I was really busy with other things.
All in all, not too bad. It’s summer-time which means TRAVEL! Hopefully I can keep these all in my memory so I can do better.
