Our daughter recently turned the big TEN! My how a decade flies by! I also happens to be party year… which meant a party was in store! (We only throw birthday parties every other year, on the even birthday years. The odd years we go out to dinner. And, we’ve only thrown parties for our daughter so far. The sons haven’t requested one yet, and I’m ok with that.)
After much deliberation, she decided on a zoo theme. So I got to work. And I’m proud to say that once again, I threw this party for under $100. Woohoo!! (Years ago someone snottily told me that you could never throw a birthday party for less than $100… it’s been my mission to prove her wrong ever since. Which I know, does sound very mean on my end.)
The bulk of the money was spent on decorations. I went to a local parent-teacher store and bought construction paper in shades of brown and green. I still have a ton leftover. We will need to find some uses for that! I also bought a package of plastic blow-up animals that we placed around the living room. At the end of the party, each girl got to take one home…. a “party favor” if you will.
