Last year my church started a Christmas initiative called Light the World. The focus was to give small acts of service throughout the month of December. To see our service chart, that to be honest with you we ended up failing at, click here. Oh that consistency thing, it gets me every time!
This year Light the World is back again and this year’s focus is to follow Christ’s example through small acts of service.
Once again I was kinda excited about it.
This idea I came up with this year was to make an advent and give it to the kids teachers. The church releases the calendar in early November so I had a whole month to plan. I call November my Christmas-prep month!
What resulted was a fun box of gifts. We delivered each box to the kids teacher’s on Nov. 30th (so they could start on Dec 1st). The teachers seemed so excited. Well, I mean, I would be too if someone showed up at my door with a basket full of presents!
I have to admit, it was a lot of work. Printing, cutting and gluing all the date numbers was tedious at times. While it may sound silly, remembering “who” I was giving these to kept me going. I simply adore our kids teachers. That simple thought kept me going. Which made the work easy.
